Updated: Apr 27

Samuel Eto’o takes a new course in his football ascent. The former legend of African football, current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, has just been appointed head of the Technical Commission of the African Football Confederation (CAF). .A decision that devotes not only to his expertise, but also his ability to overcome the challenges, he who had to brave strong resistances to integrate this continental body.

Since his election at the head of Fecafoot in December 2021, Samuel Eto’o has not stopped arouse debates. .Criticized, attacked, or even accused by certain detractors, the ex-star of Barça and Inter Milan has nevertheless kept the course, transforming each controversy into a springboard. .His appointment to the CAF technical committee, a key body responsible for supervising the tactical and technical development of African football, marks a new chapter in his commitment to continental sport.

If the controversies have marked his mandate, the results speak for themselves. .In less than three years, Samuel Eto’o has scored his name in the history of Cameroonian football by achieving an unprecedented feat:

- Seidou Mbombo Njoya (2018-2021): 2 qualifications (Senior women 2019, U17 Men 2019).
