Sadio Mané's successor contenders for the African Ballon d'Or are now known. Of thirty (30) names selected a few weeks ago, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has just revealed the three finalists, who had a successful season than the others.
Unsurprisingly, we can see the Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, who had a stratospheric season by finishing as Italian champion with Naples last season. .champion of France with Paris Saint-Germain, and semi-finalist of the last World Cup played in Qatar with Morocco, Achraf Hakimi wins his place in the three finalists selected by CAF. Finally, the third name retained by CAF is that of Liverpool's Egyptian striker, MohamedSalah.the Cameroonian Aboubacar Vincent is excluded from the final trio to the great surprise of Internet userson the goalkeeper side, we see Yassine Bounou, semi-finalist of the 2022 World Cup with Morocco, André Onana, sparkling Champions League finalist with Inter Milan, and the Egyptian Mohamed El Shenawy.
The CAF Awards ceremony will be held at the Movenpick Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco at 7:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. GMT).
Designated Ballon d'Or 2022, Senegalese Sadio Mané was not even in the Top 10 nominated in 2023.
